My name is Ellie Bennett, and I’m an Assyriologist at the University of Helsinki. I am interested in questions of identity and experience in the Neo-Assyrian period (northern Iraq, c. 935-612 CBE). I have investigated how Assyrians viewed ‘Arabs’, the masculinities of Assyrians, and how Assyrian texts embodied emotions.
Please have a look around my site. I update the blog any time I do something interesting, and I try to keep it as accessible as possible. You can also find my publications, and my academic CV.
You can find my publications on Academia.edu and Researchgate, and a full account of my research at my University of Helsinki research profile.
I am also available for consultation work. If you are interested, please reach out to my agent Kirsty McLachlan at kirsty@morgangreencreatives.com
